This was an unusual project. Our client had created a prototype using fiberglass and created an actual functioning part before any CAD files were created. We had the challenge of creating an almost exact replication of the fiberglass model with some pretty complex shaping involved. We decided that using high resolution scanning equipment fit this project well. We had the original part scanned to generate surface models that we could use and make our additions. With the help of a local laser firm and an exceptionally talented surface modeler, we were able to create the helmet to the exact specifications the client
